“CLAPTON” well written, moving, revealing autobiography by Eric Clapton

Terry Prachetts - A million thanks to my friend in Mumbai who introduced me to this author. The tops as far as Fantasy Fiction is concerned, he is one person who I swear weaves magic with his words. Its also a very astute and not so sublte commetary on the way of the world. An yeah, his one liners are absolute killer. This set of books has actually made me laugh out aloud.

Thanks for the tip, Namita! Terry Prachetts … would you recommend starting with Wings?

This year I’ve actually settled into a slightly better reading schedule. My reading slowed to a sloth’s pace after my undergrad economics coursework. I grabbed a speed reading book at the beginning of the year it actually helped. It also helps that I’ve rediscovered fiction.

In any event, Midnight’s Children took me some time to get through, but I loved it. Very interesting to read about the cultural interplay in India, and in particular the role of muslim culture prior to our recent ‘terror era’ focus. Rushdie is a wonderful story teller, weaving together multiple generations, individual life sagas, symbolism and national/cultural struggles, with elegance and logic. Highly recommended, tho it does require a bit of ‘work.’
