A brief diary of Fire Escape Partners:
We're a small team with a ton of energy, all of which right now
is dedicated to the development, refinement and support of our two
vocabulary products.
Fire Escape Partners began dreaming on the rickety metal balconies
outside of our tight quartered New York City apartments in the summer
of 2000. That was the year we developed our daily word mailing list,
MyWordaDay. We signed up our first members in September, and quickly
launched an ambitious affiliate program to spread the word.
Our commitment to quality content with respectful, non-intrusive
advertising was just beginning to garner us some attention in the
educational community, the online service industry, and most importantly,
within the burgeoning ranks of our subscribers. Throughout 2001,
we tweaked and polished MyWordaDay based on the invaluable feedback
of our members until our product had evolved into a true market
leader.
Towards the end of 2001, with MyWordaDay enjoying a subscription
base of over 20,000 active and vocal members, we were becoming increasingly
aware that a vocabulary mailing list, working alone, has limitations
as an educational tool. Five new words per week is a brisk learning
pace for the typically bombarded adult mind. To have a fighting
chance of regularly using our new words, our members needed a system
for isolating the words they cared most about, and interacting with
them in an organized, regular fashion. This need, combined with
the harsh realities facing free web services in the current advertising
market, sent the team at Fire Escape Partners into seclusion atop
our precarious wire frame thrones. So we toiled and slaved for 1,000
days and 1,000 nights (well, almost!) and we emerged with Vocab
Vitamins Complete.
Vocab Vitamins Complete, along with the new Vocab Vitamins web site,
were launched in late summer of 2002, on the heels of our 30,000th
MyWordaDay subscriber.
We continue to put our entire heart and soul into making our products
the most effective and enjoyable on the market. We continuously
tweak and improve based on user feedback and needs. We hope that
you enjoy using our services as much as we enjoy providing them!

How our site got so beautiful:
Where to begin -- we at Fire Escape Partners have been to fortunate
enough to work with a dream team of designers. Sarah
Conner was the brain trust behind the original MyWordaDay site,
and she laid the groundwork for the current Vocab Vitamins site
as well. Jeannice Angela is responsible
for our internal page layouts and all of the sleek, intuitive interfaces.
Suzan Ward gave birth to our logo
concept, which Jeannice Angela raised into adulthood.
We're incredibly grateful for the contributions they've made to
Fire Escape Partners, and their services come highly recommended.
